SHOW NOTES

KEY IDEAS:

Autumm and I bought a farm that is in between a larger city (Boise) a medium sized city (Meridian) and a small town (Kuna).  We are right in the heart of the “rural/urban interface.”  “Farming The Interface” has its plusses and minuses for sure.  In this episode we break down the pros and cons of farming in this area.

We realize that like us, many of you will choose properties in this type of area.  Whether it be to keep your current job, stay close to families or not uproot your kids from their school.  We have some ideas on how to successfully interact with the city people coming through your area, your new neighbors who do not understand agriculture as well as some creative marketing ideas for your farm products.

Please contact me with any questions, feedback or suggestions:

All of these links are to scholarly articles.  I could not find much information written from the perspective of somebody who is actually on the farm and working with their neighbors.
