OFI 249: Do Only Dependent Weaklings Get Coaches? Madison Bumgarner Doesn’t Think So!

Alright, what is up with the title of this show?  Well, in this show I am talking about getting professional coaching to help us along our path in a faster and more efficient way.  And with a higher likelihood of success.

There was a time that I believed that getting a coach was some new fangled, modern age thing that only people who were not self-reliant would do.  Now I know that is not true.  I know that the most successful people in our society, both in business and sports, do not believe that even though they are the best that they know it all.  They all have coaches, and they are all getting help to improve their performance even more.

Now, I am a San Francisco Giants fan, and I am definitely a Madison Bumgarner fan.  Madbum is a big, self-reliant man who has seen a lot of success.  But he still has a pitching coach.  He relies on Dave Righetti to help continue to improve and to watch him and notice ways in which he is getting off track.

If coaching is good enough for this world class athlete, than it is good enough for the rest of us too!
