INTRODUCING JAKE FANNING!
Today we profile another amazing FFA entrepreneur. Jake Fanning is a finalist for the 2017 Star Farmer Award at the FFA National Convention. I was lucky enough to be assigned to interview him, and I wanted to profile his accomplishments right here for you as well as the radio show “FFA Today”.
Jake is finishing his bachelor’s degree at Oklahoma State University and then heading to law school. He has already done a ton, and I suspect there is a ton more to come with this young man.
In high school Jake started his own beef stocker operation, building it to the point that he was taking out an over $300,000 operating loan each year. During this time, in conjunction with his family, he started “The Beef Project“, which is a non-profit designed to help less fortunate folks be able to consume beef and so much more.
When natural disaster struck in 2017 in the form of a wildfire the size of Rhode Island that struck Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas, Jake and his family stepped in to help their community. They were able to raise over $20,000 for wildfire relief. Jake is an absolutely fantastic young man and is evidence of what is possible when talent and the FFA meet.
