Today we have a follow up interview with Brent Legere.  He was previously the featured guest of episode #225 for his business Lovell Box Company.  Brent has expanded Lovell Box Company into a new company, Western Main Slabworks.  This required him to purchase a new sawmill and look into a new customer group.

In this interview we discuss how he learned about this new market, where the money for the new sawmill came from and how he markets to his new customers.  It is exciting to see how Brent’s business is expanding and he continues to find his path in entrepreneurship.

ADVICE (NEW) FROM BRENT:

YOUR PATH: Don’t spend all your time trying to emulate other people.  Follow your own path and what is true to you.

NEGATIVES: Don’t listen to negative people who say it is not possible.  They are probably just afraid to try it themselves.

GUT INSTINCT: Follow your gut….it is there for a reason.

RESOURCES: Take advantage of all of your available resources.

BEST BUSINESS ADVICE BRENT HAS EVER RECEIVED:

Don’t be afraid to charge enough for your product or service to survive and make a profit.  People frequently undercharge because they are nervous about finding clients.  Don’t make this mistake.  Get clients through producing great products or service, and they will pay what you are charging.

PERSONAL HABIT THAT HELPS BRENT SUCCEED:

Brent doesn’t take anything too seriously.  He knows when to take a break, how to get over frustration and how to keep his work enjoyable.
