Eric Porter is an unbelievable entrepreneur, overcoming overwhelming odds and he gives the FFA a lot of the credit for his great attitude.
Eric has a natural entrepreneurial spirit, and through his FFA experience at Lake Forest High School he started a landscaping business and was doing great with it. Then, last spring, while he was going to a job site a vehicle collided with him, paralyzing him from the waste down. Eric credits this incident with helping him to figure out what his life’s purpose is, and this just happened in April of 2017.
Eric is making great progress on getting the use of his legs back. He cannot operate his landscaping business any longer. But that has not stopped him. Now he has started the “porterstrongproject” selling hats and clothing. The Porter Strong Project is a non-profit organization, and he is using the proceeds from what he is doing to help other people who are paralyzed and in wheel chairs.

Donate to FFA – One way that FFA students are able to start small businesses is through an FFA grant of $1,000. In 2014, 141 FFA students received these grants. With your donations, more students can get this head start – pay it forward.
REASONS TO DONATE TO FFA:
“Because American farmers are able to provide for so many of us, they give more and more of us the freedom to pursue goals and livelihoods beyond growing the food we need to survive.”
