OFI 668: Painting Pictures Of Yesterday’s Agriculture And Preserving Rural Values | Author: Jerry Apps

 SHOW NOTES

KEY IDEAS:

Today I get to catch up with one of my all time, favorite agricultural authors.  Jerry Apps joins me to talk about the state of agriculture today, growing up without electricity and several new projects that he is working on.

Jerry originally appeared on episode #348 of the show just about 2 years ago.  There is something about the pictures he paints with his words and memories of farming that really puts you in the correct frame of mind for fall and the coming winter.  Jerry did not disappoint – he did it again in this episode.

Jerry has some fascinating new projects coming up as well.  I linked up to all of his new books on the top of the list below.  The one I am really eager to get my hands on is going to be the history of county fairs.  Nope, the original purpose was not rides and cotton candy.  It was a way for farmers to come together, sell items and educate each other on best practices and area in which they were having success.  This is going to be fascinating!
