Many times on this show as we have discussed concepts and principles needed to succeed in creating your own agricultural business we have stated that you will have to “leave” agriculture, find concepts and then translate them back to agriculture for the success of your own business opportunity.

I continue to do just this.  As part of this search I came across the book, Main Street Entrepreneur: Build Your Dream Company Doing What You Love Where You Live.  I was fascinated from the beginning because the author chose to interview entrepreneurs who bootstrapped their businesses and chose entrepreneurship so they could live in a certain area and enjoy a small town or rural lifestyle.

When I began reading the book I found out that the author, Michael Glauser, had decided to get to his interviews, all across the country, via bicycle.  That’s right….he rode from the Pacific Ocean in Oregon to the Atlantic Ocean in Virginia along what is know as the Trans America Bicycle Route.  Along the way he interviewed these entrepreneurs and put together a fantastic book that can help you, step by step, succeed in developing your own, small business.

Mike currently serves as the Executive Director of the Clark Center for Entrepreneurship at Utah State University in addition to his other entrepreneurial and educational pursuits.  Beyond the book we are featuring in this episode Mike creates online courses to teach entrepreneurship to individuals just like you and help you along your way.
