Episode 26 is the fourth and final installment of April’s Farm Episodes. In April we have heard from several experts ranging from how to find farmers ready to transition their farm to an up and comer, the legal process for transferring the farm business, what to look for when you are shopping for agricultural property and then this episode.
In this episode I sat down with two experts from the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and discussed EQIP or the Environmental Quality Incentives Program. EQIP is the program that Autumm and I used to complete our farm with a large scale irrigation project, fencing, intensive rotational grazing, stock water, etc.
Erin Brooks is a Soil Conservationist with the NRCS.
Clinton Whitten is a Soil Conservation Technician with the NRCS.
The two of them combined to help Autumm and I with this program. And, they took the time to sit down with me in my studio to do this interview. I was shocked to learn that their biggest obstacle in helping people with this program is that most people have never heard of EQIP. Hopefully this interview changes that.
Enjoy this interview and I hope it is provides you with valuable information.
