As I gain new experiences in entrepreneurship I want to share them with you.  My assumption being that you are coming along just a step or two behind me.  The recent sale of my gopher extermination business was a brand new experience, and I learned a lot.  I wanted to share that experience with you.

Deciding to sell the business was not easy.  I had played with the idea in the past but never followed through.  But when I became the host of the D&B Supply Show I knew that it was time, and I began the process of finding a buyer and selling the business.

I was lucky in that I was able to sell the business to my employee, John.  A person who was already familiar with how it was run and what the business was capable of.  Even with John purchasing it from me, there were still a lot of hurdles to get over to protect both the buyer and seller and make sure things were done right.

In this episode I discuss a lot of what I went through in selling the business, and I offer tips and advice to you on what you should do and what you should avoid.  This is not exhaustive.  But since I just went through this, and we are on this journey together, I wanted to share what I did learn for your benefit.
