Our guest today is making a repeat appearance on the show.  Theresa Sheridan is passionate about two things: entrepreneurship and agriculture.  When she appeared on episode #216 she talked all about how she was helping people market themselves in agriculture through her website design and marketing company.  Now she has discovered a needed niche in agriculture, and has created AgStockPhotos.com to provide needed agricultural photographs to those of us creating content and marketing online in Ag.

Theresa also proves another concept we talk about on this show, and that is the creation of a business can allow you to live where you want and enjoy the lifestyle that you want.  Theresa recently moved from California to Idaho, and she was able to keep doing the same thing as always.  She did not have to look for a new job or worry about the economy where she was going to.  This is why entrepreneurship is so valuable to all of us looking to farm, ranch or just live a rural lifestyle.

ADVICE FROM THERESA:

• Invest in Yourself – get the training and knowledge that you need to be successful
• Get marketing help – she hired a marketing coach and then her business took off – if you do not know something, hire somebody who does
• Do not be scared to outsource –  you have to concentrate on your strengths – do not spend all your time building up your weaknesses

PERSONAL HABIT THAT MAKES THERESA SUCCESSFUL:

LISTS: Theresa still keeps paper lists.  She has tried online organization tools, but going back to basics is where her comfort level is.

GET UP!: Theresa is either up with the sun or before sun, depending on the season.  She gets her work done before noon and knows when she is the most productive with her day.

BEST BUSINESS ADVICE EVER GIVEN TO THERESA:

“I’d rather regret doing something than regret not doing something”….in other words get started!
