OFI 159: The Time Wasters Nobody Ever Told Me About And Ways To Help You Save Time

My goal with this podcast is help you follow the path that I have taken and for you to be successful along that journey.  So, I’ve been racking my brain wondering what things have I encountered along the way and learned from, that would be useful to you.

Well, one thing that I have been experiencing this entire spring is a shortage of time.  There have been many things come up that have caused me to postpone projects or work late into the evenings and all day on Sunday.

In this episode I wanted to share with you several of these unanticipated time wasters.  These are things that no business books or podcasts ever warned me about.  Probably because most people anticipated them.  However, I did not.  And, if you are like me, you probably won’t either.

I don’t just complain about time wasters in this episode however.  I also give you some resources that can help you with saving time or at least eliminating these wasters.  I found an article online called “The Biggest Time Savers For Your Small Business” in a publication from American Express called “open forum.”

This article listed five important things you can do to save time.  I put an agricultural spin on them for you.  They are:

1. Online Meetings
2. Delegating/Hiring
3. Searching For Documents
4. Group Calendaring
5. Valuing You Time

I also broke down the Eisenhower Method of productivity.  If you have never heard of this, you need to learn about this method and really let it sink in.  It is profiled in the table to the right.
