INTRODUCING CADEN BYBEE!

I really like it when a student is not only aware of the legacy on their farm but the history and just how significant what has been accomplished by previous generations has been. Today’s guest, Caden Bybee is exactly one of those students.

Caden grew up on a huge crop farm outside of Prosser, Washington. They pump water 17 miles from the Columbia River to their farm so they can grow more than wheat. He does a really good job describing the irrigation system and how it works which is pretty amazing for people to hear about, especially if they don’t live in the West.

Caden is 19 now, and he is a volunteer fire fighter. He has a compelling story about being injured in an accident and all the surgeries he had to undergo to get function back in his arm and hand as a result. He cites this experience as the reason that he will always be a volunteer fire fighter and EMT.

He is planning to attend BYU Idaho after he is done with a church mission and says that he will volunteer as an EMT in Idaho while he is in college. He also started his own custom haying and small hay bale business with his brother. And they have developed customers as far away as the Pacific coast. He was the Washington State Star Farmer in 2019.

Caden and his brother have their own Facebook Business Page to market their services and products. They have also worked out an arrangement so that each of them can go on a mission but keep their business running until the other returns. It is a great story of a young man who does not take any of the opportunities in front of him for granted.

REASONS TO DONATE TO FFA:
